Seen here in a provence colourway for SS21, the Michigan Coat from Carhartt is made from 100% cotton ‘Newcomb’ drill which has been garment dyed to a provence colourway. Constructed using triple stitched seams for longevity, the front is fastened by metal buttons that have been customised with stylised ‘Carhartt’ branding whilst above the collar neckline has been dyed to the same colour tone as the rest of the design for a cohesive look. On either side of the chest shaped patch pockets offer space to carry small essential items, with a single button closure on the right side and a square woven label showing the famous Carhartt logo on the left. Additionally, on either side of the waist two more patch pockets can be found. Allowing you to roll the fabric to suit, the long sleeves have curved cuffs and single button closures.
As one of Carhartt’s best known designs that has been inspired by the brands own heritage within traditional workwear design, the Michigan Coat appears within each seasonal release with updates and tweaks that ensure it suits the current season. Cotton ‘Newcomb’ drill remains a firm favourite for this design thanks to its natural durability and ability to withstand repetitive wear, whilst gaining a unique personality over time.
